Watermelon, Feta and Black Olive Salad

When I first came across this recipe in Nigella Lawsons cookbook "Forever Summer" I was doubtful but now I am a believer, the combination works really well and the Watermelon, Feta and Black Olive Salad is both refreshing and savory at the same time.  Every time I brought it to a picnic, a barbecue or a dinner party, my friends asked me for the recipe. Summer Tart

When I saw these beautiful tomatoes I first wanted to paint them, but considering my mediocre art skills I decided I would honore their beauty more by cooking them. Green asparagus, broad beans and rocket salad

I went to the farmers' market this morning and saw fresh broad beans for the first time this year. When I came home I wondered what to do with them, so I asked the British gardener and cook Sarah Raven for advice by looking broad beans up in her "Garden Cookbook". I made her green asparagus, broad bean and rocket salad. She also adds fresh peas. I loved the firm green asparagus stalks with the soft broad beans and the peppery rocket leaves. Za'atar chicken with fattoush

Thanks to the British kitchen godess Nigella Lawson I discovered za'atar. It is an oriental spice mix made of dried thyme, roasted sesame seeds and purple sumac. In her cookbook "Forever Summer" Nigella gives us the recipe for Za'atar Chicken with Fattoush. Every time I make this crispy chicken a delicious aroma invades my kitchen.
